Bali Diving Packages Atelier has curated multi-day dive itineraries since 2020. Six years of operation across Tulamben, Amed, Padangbai, Sanur, and Nusa Penida has produced a recurring set of questions from prospective guests. We have collected sixteen of the most-asked here and answered them with full operational candour. If your specific question is not on this page, message the atelier directly on WhatsApp at +62 811 3941 4563 or email bd@juaraholding.com.

Pricing and What the Package Includes

What is the all-in cost of a Bali diving package?

The 3-day Comfort tier starts at US$695 per certified diver twin-share. The 5-day Boutique tier (most-booked) starts at US$2,090. The 7-day Signature tier (with the Penida finale) starts at US$4,490. Every figure is the price you actually pay at the dock — the package includes accommodation, all dives, gear rental, transfers, lunches, conservation fees, and dive insurance. The complete pricing matrix sits on our 2026 cost breakdown page.

Are there hidden fees once I am at the dive site?

No. The price you sign at deposit is the price at the dock. The only items not included are flights to Bali, dinners outside the package, alcohol, dive-medical clearance fees if required (consult ITSMF for medical-history divers), and tips to dive guides which we leave entirely to your discretion.

What is the deposit and cancellation policy?

A fifty-percent deposit secures your dates. Balance is due fourteen days before departure. Cancellation more than thirty days out: full refund minus US$95 bank-handling fee. Cancellation between thirty days and seven days out: rescheduled to any future date within eighteen months at no fee. Cancellation inside seven days: rescheduled within six months at no fee, or fifty-percent refund if rescheduling is impossible. Force-majeure cancellation (weather, harbour-master closure, government restriction): always full reschedule at no fee.

Certification and Skill Level

Do I need to be PADI certified to join a curated package?

For multi-day packages with multiple dives, yes — at minimum PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent (SSI Open Water, NAUI, BSAC, CMAS). If you are not yet certified, the atelier integrates a PADI Open Water course into the start of your trip. See our PADI school matching guide for the integrated certification pathway.

Which certification level do I need for Nusa Penida?

The standard Manta Point cleaning station dive is fine for Open Water Divers (max 18m depth). The Crystal Bay and Blue Corner dives that target Mola-Mola sunfish hit 25-35m and require Advanced Open Water certification or equivalent. The atelier 7-day package includes the option to upgrade to Advanced Open Water mid-trip if you want to access the deeper Penida sites.

I have not dived in two years. Can I still join?

Yes. The atelier includes a complimentary refresher dive on day one of every 5-day or 7-day package, regardless of how long since your last dive. The refresher takes ninety minutes — thirty in confined water reviewing skills, sixty on a shallow shore reef confirming the skills under conditions. After the refresher, you join the regular itinerary.

Weather, Seasonality, and Sea Conditions

What is the best time of year for a Bali diving package?

April through October is the dry season — most consistent calm-sea conditions, highest underwater visibility, most reliable manta and Mola sightings. July through October is peak — Mola-Mola window opens at Penida. November through March is wet season — diving still excellent but with shorter weather windows and occasional one-to-three-day closures of the Penida southern coast. The atelier runs packages year-round with seasonal route adjustments.

What happens if weather closes a dive site during my package?

The atelier sequences three backup anchorages for every primary dive site. If Manta Point is closed by southern swell, we shift to SD Point or to Crystal Bay. If Tulamben drop-off is closed by current, we extend the wreck dives. If all options are closed for a day, we credit the dive day as a future-trip credit at no cost. We have not lost a complete dive day to weather in the last three operational years.

Logistics and Group Composition

Can my non-diving partner come along?

Yes. Non-diving partners book at fifty-five percent of the diver rate, which covers accommodation, transfers, and meals but not the dive components. Many partner resorts offer spa, yoga, beach activities, and food experiences during the dive day, so non-diving partners are well-served. We make the non-diving partner schedule explicit in the quotation.

Can I bring children on a curated diving package?

Yes. Children aged ten through fifteen who hold PADI Junior Open Water certification can join all dive activities at eighty percent of the adult rate. Younger non-diving children are welcomed as non-dive guests at the partner-rate (fifty-five percent). The atelier briefs all parents on the depth and current limits applicable to junior divers under PADI rules.

What is the maximum group size you accept?

Comfortable maximum is twelve divers. We have run groups up to sixteen but the logistics across multiple resorts and dive boats begin to feel less personal. For groups above twelve we recommend splitting into two cohorts with separate guides, then converging at sunset and dinner.

Equipment and Photography

Is dive gear included in the package price?

Yes. Every package tier includes BCD, regulator, dive computer, tank, weights, mask, fins, and full-length 3mm wetsuit (5mm wetsuit upgrade for the deeper Tulamben drop-off and Penida segments). If you prefer your own gear, the package price is reduced by US$95 to US$165 depending on which items you bring.

Is underwater photography included?

Yes. Every 5-day and 7-day package includes underwater photography on at least two dives by a certified-guide photographer. You receive the full unwatermarked gallery within seventy-two hours of trip completion. If you want a dedicated professional photographer for the entire trip — a separate person whose only job is photography — that is a US$485 to US$685 add-on depending on package length.

Dive Shop Network and Quality Control

Why do you not own your own dive shops?

Owning a dive shop locks the curator into one boat, one compressor, one instructor team, and one site. The atelier model exists precisely to avoid that lock-in. We hold relationships with seventeen vetted PADI Five-Star and SSI Diamond Instructor Development centres across the Bali dive corridor, and we route each guest to the operator whose specialty matches the requested itinerary. The result is better site-shop matching than any single owner-operator can deliver.

How do you vet partner dive shops?

Three-criterion vetting. Equipment service logs (annual documented service on every BCD, regulator, and tank, with three-year cycle-out). Instructor seniority (MSDT-level minimum on certification courses). Guide-ratio commitments (4:1 maximum on certified dives, 2:1 on confined water). We re-audit every partner shop on a six-month cycle and we have removed three shops from the network since 2022 for failing the audit.

How do I reach the atelier to start my booking?

Fastest path is WhatsApp at +62 811 3941 4563 — we respond within two business hours during Bali daytime and within twelve hours overnight. Email bd@juaraholding.com is the secondary channel.
