Sustainability & Community Impact

At Bali Diving Packages Atelier, we believe that true luxury is inseparable from responsibility. The pristine reefs, vibrant marine life, and rich cultures of Indonesia are not merely our product; they are a precious global heritage that we have a duty to protect and nurture. Our sustainability policy is not an afterthought—it is a core pillar of our operational philosophy, integrated into every experience we design. As a subsidiary of Juara Holding Group, we are committed to setting the standard for sustainable luxury tourism in the archipelago.

Our Three Pillars of Commitment

1. Marine & Environmental Conservation

Our business exists because of the ocean’s health. We are passionately committed to its preservation through concrete actions:

  • Financial Contribution: We pledge 2% of our annual net profit to our designated conservation partners, primarily the Coral Triangle Center (CTC) in Sanur, Bali, and the Komodo Survival Program.
  • Carbon Offsetting: We have partnered with the Indonesian-based organization CarbonEthics.co to calculate the carbon footprint of every private charter we organize. We then offset 100% of this footprint through their certified blue carbon projects, such as mangrove restoration in coastal Java.
  • No Single-Use Plastics: Our operations are strictly free of single-use plastics. We provide all guests with high-quality reusable water bottles and ensure all our partner vessels and resorts adhere to this policy contractually.
  • Reef-Safe Practices: All our guides are trained in advanced buoyancy control and reef-safe diving protocols. We provide reef-safe sunscreen to all guests and educate them on the importance of avoiding any contact with marine life and corals.

2. Community Empowerment & Local Sourcing

We are dedicated to ensuring that the benefits of tourism are shared equitably with the local communities who are the traditional custodians of these lands and seas.

  • Local Employment: We maintain a strict policy of over 90% local Indonesian employment across all our operations. We prioritize hiring guides, crew, and support staff from the specific regions we operate in, from villages in West Bali to communities around Labuan Bajo.
  • Fair Wages & Conditions: All our staff and the staff of our primary contractors are guaranteed fair wages that exceed the regional minimums, along with full health and social security coverage through BPJS.
  • Supporting Local Enterprises: We actively source our supplies and amenities from local businesses. Our guest toiletries are from the Balinese company Sensatia Botanicals, and we support social enterprises like Threads of Life in Ubud to preserve traditional weaving arts.
  • Community Development Projects: We partner with local village co-ops (‘koperasi’) to support small-scale projects, such as waste management systems or educational programs for children in remote coastal communities.

3. Cultural Preservation & Education

We aim to create ambassadors for Indonesia by fostering a deeper understanding and respect for its rich cultural tapestry.

  • Authentic Experiences: We facilitate respectful and authentic cultural interactions, not staged performances. This may include a visit to a traditional Phinisi boat-building village in South Sulawesi or learning about the Subak irrigation system in Bali.
  • Guest Education: Every itinerary includes detailed information about the local culture, customs, and history. Our guides are trained to share this knowledge respectfully and accurately.
  • Respect for Sacred Sites: We operate with the utmost respect for local traditions and sacred sites, both on land and underwater (e.g., temple sites near dive locations).

Our commitment to sustainability is an ongoing journey of improvement and learning. We regularly review our policies with our expert advisors to ensure we are not just meeting but exceeding the best practices for responsible travel.
